Botswana, Somalia and South Sudan are said to continue to dominate with executions. This is according to Amnesty International’s latest 2020 Death Penalty Report. The human rights body says that the Covid-19 pandemic didn’t do enough to deter 18 countries, from carrying out executions last year. In the SADC region, Botswana is said to be the only country that was determined to execute people during the lockdown.
