Acts 15 is not simply a matter of 'tradition' versus 'innovation' and does not give license to dismiss anyone who resists any new proposal. It is about the reassertion and the working through the principle in Acts 11 that states, "Precisely because God has fulfilled his covenant with Israel in sending Jesus as Messiah, the covenant family is now thrown open to all, without distinction."
God does not show favoritism but accepts from every generation the one who fears God and does what is right, this is the Good News of peace through Jesus Christ who is Lord of all.
Are we putting God to the test as Peter asked those in Jerusalem when he said, "God made no distinction between us and them, but he purified their hearts through faith. So now, why are you putting God to the test, by placing a yoke on the disciples' necks which neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? Rather, we believe that it is by the grace of the Lord Jesus that we shall be saved, just like them."
