Our latest guest is Deborah Williams, founder of The Women’s Association, a pioneering organisation aiming to “change systems, cultures and mindsets that make women and girls feel like we have to be anything other than our authentic selves at work and in the wider world.”
Deborah first became aware of the experiences of women in leadership positions during her dissertation research for her Masters degree, and was shocked by the widespread inequality, discrimination and prejudice that these women had encountered. Determined to fight for change, Deborah set up The Women’s Association.
The company’s recent work includes the Executive Challenge, giving girls aged 12 - 17 the opportunity to learn about life as an executive, and the ‘For the Woman’ campaign, spotlighting women across different industries and career levels and celebrating their contribution to the working world.
She joins Pips this week to discuss leadership styles, the importance of emotional and cultural intelligence and the ongoing issue of the gender pay gap.
