I have heard it said that all Jesus' Sabbath miracles were healing miracles, and I think that's true. Watchman Nee, a Christian brother from China, has said this: "Grace means God does something for me. Law means I do something for God." If I bring the grace of the Sabbath into the demonstrations that Jesus made on that day, I start to get a better idea of how Sabbath works best. Certainly, we have a role in the Sabbath. We are made to worship and adore God, and we must remember the holy lives that he has called us to live. We don't get a break from that on the Sabbath. But we must also remember that God is active, he is moving, he is bringing all things together. The place where we have the greatest opportunity to see that is the redemption world of the Sabbath.
