Jereboam sends his wife on an errand of deceit to a blind prophet but little do they comprehend that God is the prophets eyes. Jereboam had done wickedly in setting priests everywhere, idols and disrespecting God. Now he is informed of the BIG PAYBACK. Deceit is like lying to God in Eden, Jacob & Rebecca to her husband Isaac, it never pays, the two that lie to Abimilech, bc Sarah and the other were beautiful, and ultimately Judas’ betrayal with a kiss. He may be long suffering but sin exacts a price without repentance.
