“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prune so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”          John 15:1-5

Jesus is the Vine and God the Father is the Gardener

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.        John 15:1

Let me sing for my beloved my love song concerning his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill. 2 He dug it and cleared it of stones, and planted it with choice vines; he built a watchtower in the midst of it, and hewed out a wine vat in it; and he looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.       Isaiah 5:1-2

The Gardener works in His garden to make sure what isn’t growing is gone and what is growing grows more

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.              Galatians 5:22-23

Jesus is the only source you can connect to bear fruit; we must remain in Him

Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God.                2 Corinthians 3:5

Come near to God and he will come near to you…        John 4:8
