Elizabeth & Zechariah were promised a child at an older age. Zechariah's disbelief resulted in becoming mute. When Elizabeth was well into her pregnancy, Mary visited in fear yet received consolation, and Elizabeth's baby lept for joy. In accordance with the angel's prophecy, Zechariah regained speech to name his son John, who would prepare the way for Jesus.
