A decision on the future of Bundoran and Ballyshannon fire stations has been made.
A proposal brought forward today to a meeting of Donegal County Council to build a new fire station at Finner has been approved and is set to serve both communities.
Bundoran and Ballyshannon currently have a fire station each however both buildings have been deemed outdated and in need of major upgrades.
The controversial issue has been rumbling on for decades.
