There is a difference between being dedicated and devoted to something, we will tend to be flighty or flaky when we are dedicated because dedication can be temporary depending on the situation. When we are devoted, it has permanence, we do not leave what we are devoted to. That is how God is, he is devoted to us, and we tend to be dedicated to Him. if we don’t like something we will shift away from Him, and He stays right there with us no mater what we are doing.
