Just how young is too young for kids to wear makeup? More and more companies are targeting children with makeup products, and its prompting concern from parenting experts. Manufacturers of make up for young children insist they prioritize safety, but some medical experts and parents say early exposure to skincare regimens could foster a premature obsession with physical appearance. Others say it's a simple form of artistic expression and as long as kids are doing it for the right reasons, it's okay.

In this Deep Dive, Maria Shilaos digs into the issue of body image among young people and the effects of children using makeup. She's joined by Dr. Lauren Barnes, LMFT, a professor at Brigham Young University. She also hears from listeners to get their thoughts and perspectives on this issue.
