Doctors receive 7% of total health-care costs in salaries! So how are the remaining 93% spent? The centralisation of financial flows related to health in the hands of the State through social security, or in the hands of mandatory health insurers, has multiplied health-care costs by ten over the last four decades. This aberration is made possible by the absence of citizens’ third-party oversight over the financial flows linking all the actors in medicine, namely health insurers, pharmaceutical companies, States, regulatory bodies and doctors.

Doctors have allowed themselves to be overrun by all these "service providers" who impose treatment protocols on them, administrative processes made compulsory by law, and procedures for checks and continuing education in knowledge they already possess. Once citizens’ third-party oversight of all financial flows related to medicine and, more broadly, to health is imposed by the constitution, as described in the book "2024" by Pascal T. Borel, we will immediately know who benefits from this monstrous explosion in costs. Once citizens’ third-party oversight is imposed, we will prevent financiers from taking control of health care. Once citizens’ third-party oversight becomes the norm, all actors in health care will be held accountable in their respective roles. Doctors will once again be masters of medicine, free from financial constraints; States, insurers and Big Pharma will no longer be able to conceal the colossal profits they grant themselves on the backs of people who are losing their most precious asset: their health. Had citizens’ third-party oversight of all monetary flows in the field of health been the norm, its takeover by financial interests would have been impossible.
