This lecture serves as a review and instructional tool for improving providers’ understanding of coding. The goal is to identify and improve coding for ethical and correct collections as well as reduction of coding errors. In the lecture, Jason Roddick, DMSc, MBA, PA-C, will:

  • Explain criteria E/M coding changes implemented as of January 2021.
  • Discuss the implementation of modifiers for multiple services codes for dermatology billing. He explains the difference between intermediate and complex closure coding.
  • Identify specific codes for procedures that often have collection difficulties when performed by physician assistants.
