In this episode, “Love is Death,” we learned that true love begins with dying to ourselves. Jesus calls us to three things: Deny ourselves , pick up our cross, and to follow Him.

To deny ourselves means to cut off what pleases your flesh and choose obedience over comfort. Picking up your cross means embracing discomfort, inconvenience, and surrendering daily. And only after we die to ourselves can we truly follow Him.

If we want to be real disciples, we must first be dead - dead to pride, dead to our will and dead to selfish desires. To love him requires surrender because the path to life starts with death.
