First, we are invited to rest in the Father’s plan, trusting that His perfect timing and sovereign purposes brought about the sending of His Son to redeem us. Second, we are called to receive the Son’s accomplishment, embracing the freedom and adoption as children of God that Jesus secured through His life, death, and resurrection. Finally, we are urged to rejoice in the Spirit’s application of the Gospel, as the Spirit dwells within us, assuring us of our adoption and giving us the intimate cry of “Abba, Father.” At the start of a new year, this glorious truth grounds our identity and equips us to live with confidence, joy, and hope as heirs of God’s eternal kingdom.
