20. huhtikuuta 2010 öljynporauslautta Deepwater Horizon räjähti suorittaessaan Yhdysvaltojen rannikolla koeporausta öljy-yhtiö British Petroleumille. Räjähdyksen taustalla olivat rikkoutunut laitteisto ja sarja huonoja päätöksiä, jotka lopulta johtivat yhteen viime vuosikymmenen pahimmista ympäristökatastrofeista.
