Nikki is joined by Max Nijst, a substance abuse counselor, author, and speaker.  He’s sharing how he went from married with 3 kids and a white picket fence, to divorced, self-medicating, and living with his mom.  It all started in middle school when Max started experimenting with alcohol and marijuana.  Max’s parting continued into adulthood, and he picked up cocaine.  His marriage fell apart, and his ex-wife took their kids to another state.  With the kids being the only thing holding him together, Max fell apart further, now getting into meth.  This caused him to not see his kids for 9 years.  It took finding himself homeless and facing time in prison that he realized things had to change.  Listen to his story of how he turned it all around to now be 18 years sober and working to end the stigma and help others.
