Over the years, it seems that broader evangelicalism has flattened the doctrine of sin. Meaning, all sin is the same and without distinction. On one hand, every sin “big” or “small” is indeed a violation of God’s law and is therefore damnable in the eyes of holy God. However, Scripture communicates that some sins are more severe in their effects and consequences than others, and they are deserving of greater response from the church and the government.
