DMN8 the Day

Delegate - DMN8 the Day 156

Listen Later

So we are talking about the foundations of domination. What are those foundations? Those foundations are simple. Those foundations are quite simply automate, delegate, innovate. Talked yesterday about automate. Automate processes to get your business to the next level, automate follow up, automate billing, automate Google review capture, automate the process to get your business to the next day or to the next level. Boom, bada bing. Today, we wanna talk about delegate. Delegate things in your business that you should not be doing. Like you should have dollar an hour tasks, $10 an hour tasks, $50 an hour tasks, $100 hour tasks, $1,000 tasks. And you should only wanna be doing those higher level tasks, unfortunately in your business when you first start, you're doing all of those tasks, right? You're answering the phone, paying bills, simple, simple marketing. Like all of these, we don't necessarily need to call 'em menial tasks cause they're not menial, but they're tasks that shouldn't be completed by the individual that's driving the bus. Okay? The guy driving the bus is the one that has the vision. If he's also cleaning the bus, then it takes away from him being able to drive the bus. If he's gotta fill the gas tank, it takes away from him driving the bus. If he's gotta keep the windshield clean, it takes away from him driving the bus. So what are some of those things in your bus you can delegate? First thing you can delegate is answering the phone. You can use a third party system. Although I really, or a third party company, which I don't really recommend that, I recommend hiring someone and either allowing them to work remotely or in your office. I prefer in the office. And then after hours, like it's okay after hours to send somebody to voicemail, but don't send somebody to voicemail during the day. Especially if you're running ads. Stop doing that now. Have someone answer the phone. Like I know companies that they do at 24/7 and that's fine, but at least answer the phone during the day, delegate that task. It's a simple task to delegate. Bill paying, hire a bookkeeper. "But I don't want anybody. I don't trust anybody." Blah blah. Put controls in place. Shut the f*ck up. Like hire a bookkeeper and shut up. That's one of the easiest things you can do and the smartest things you can do because they can prepare monthly statements to send to a CPA or quarterly statements to send to a CPA. They shouldn't be the same person, and a CPA can review the bookkeeper's work and give you the information. So you have two sets of reports and you have a set of eyes watching the bookkeeper, right? It's good. It's genius. But you should have that delegated. Those are some of the foundational pieces you should get delegated. Third piece is your marketing. Like unless you know, marketing, you're a marketing wiz, you're a marketing genius. Don't do frigging marketing. And if you are marketing genius and a marketing wiz, then do marketing and have other people do everything else. Like don't try to do everything. This ideal of a business owner has to come in and know everything is ludicrous. It is crazy. Like where did this come from? Go to a doctor's office, and the doctor is in charge of seeing patients. Is he trying to fix the computers? Hell no. "But a doctor makes so much more money." He also focuses on one thing, and hires out everything else. And in a physician practice, they don't make money right away. They have a ton of expenses. How do they overcome that? They get credit lines. They are bought into what they are going to do. They are sold into what they are going to do. We are scared sh*tless as small business owners. It's time to stop being scared sh*tless, delegate tasks that you can make you money and DMN8 your freaking market. Otherwise you're gonna be in the same place that you are today in three years, seven years, ten years, because you're afraid to take the next step. "Cash only is all I do. I don't buy anything without cash." That's just f*cking stupid. It really is. There, I hurt your feelings. Go watch, go listen to Dave Ramsey's podcast. You can, you can commiserate with that sh*t over there. Look, I'm looking to DMN8 my motherf*cking market. I'm not looking to be an also ran. And so if I'm looking to DMN8 my market, I wanna take every advantage that I can to DMN8 my market. So I'm gonna automate processes and I'm gonna delegate processes because if I'm doing something that takes my time away from me making money, then I'm doing myself a disservice. And I definitely will not DMN8 the day.
