Das Neujahrskonzert 2021 der Wiener Philharmoniker: 50 Mio. TV-Zuseher in 92 Ländern. Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie war erstmals überhaupt kein Publikum im Konzertsaal erlaubt. Doch das Orchester musste nicht auf den Applaus live vor Ort verzichten: POET Audio und der ORF machten das weltweit wichtigste Kulturevent interaktiv zugänglich.
Das heimliche Highlight des #FreeESC Free European Song Contests 2021 auf Pro Sieben war etwas, das gar nicht zur Show gehörte: Die wiederkehrende Netflix-Werbung für die Komödie „Eurovision – The Story of Fire Saga“.

Die MAK LAB APP fungiert als intuitive aber vielseitige digitale Erweiterung des MAK DESIGN LAB. Sie leitet Besucherinnen und Besucher nicht bloß durch die Ausstellung, sondern hilft beim Erforschen von Verbindungen zwischen verschiedenen Exponaten, und bietet Zusatzinformationen durch Illustrationen, Infografiken, Zitaten und Links zu externen Quellen.
Digitale Pfade innerhalb der App eröffnen narrative Strukturen in der Ausstellung, aber auch über sie hinaus. Pfade können selbst erstellt und geteilt werden. Die App verwebt sich mit dem analogen Raum des MAK DESIGN LAB und erweitert diesen.

Ruth Schöffl (UNHCR), Francesco Bestagno und Marcello Demner (DMB.) zu Gast im Blautöne Studio bei Doris Christina Steiner.
Was auf den ersten Blick nach einem feinen Shopping-Portal aussieht, entpuppt sich beim Anklicken der „Ware" als pure Luft. Dies erwies sich vor allem in der grafischen Umsetzung als knifflige Aufgabe. Nur durch den Einsatz von CGI konnten fotorealistische Effekte erzeugt werden, die die perfekte Illusion eines Schattens ermöglichten. Das Konzept der Luftigkeit zog sich durch die gesamte Kampagne – vom Logo über die Produktabbildungen bis hin zum Webdesign des Online-Shops.
So bekam eine ganz besondere Spendenkampagne auch einen ganz besonderen Look – und die UNHCR die Unterstützung, die sie dringend braucht.

Geschichten wie „Liebesbriefe für die Tonne" erinnern daran, dass in Österreich jährlich rund 157.000 Tonnen Lebensmittel im Müll landen. Ein wirksames Mittel dagegen: Der Einkaufszettel. Die Band Yakata, im Schaffensprozess ihres Psycho-Pop Albums „A Boy’s Latin“ zwischen Selbstfindung und emotionalem Chaos, beschreibt das Thema des Projektes so: „Das Leben ist wie eine schwierige Sprache, die wir zu entschlüsseln versuchen.“
Das Artwork des Albumcovers zeigt das Ziel der Expedition, Yakata zu finden, ein allwissendes Wesen in Gestalt einer Ziege. Nach vielen Stationen (Songs) mit Höhen und Tiefen, von Paranoia bis Ekstase, erreicht man die Spitze eines Berges über den Wolken. Dort erwarten einen Antworten auf alle Fragen des Lebens. Yakata spricht alle Sprachen und besitzt universelles Wissen. Die ultimative Erkenntnis macht nicht zwingend glücklich – aber es ist die Reise auf jeden Fall wert.
