The Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Delta Cycle Corp. have recalled Delta Cycle Ceiling Hoists with Straps.  The plastic strap buckles tend to crack and drop a kayak, canoe, or any large suspended load down on you leading to injuries.  Apparently the straps and buckles are strong enough to hold bicycles.  Affected is model RS2300.

About 25,140 of these ceiling hoists were sold in the US and about 3,390 were sold in Canada at REI and various other independent stores and online at Amazon.com and designbydelta.com.

Stop using these ceiling hoists until you have contacted Delta Cycle Corp at 1-800-474-6615 or via the email [email protected] to obtain free replacement straps.
