Co-hosts Dave Franchino and Stefanie Norvaisas talk with Winnie Karanja, the founder and executive director of Maydm, a Madison-based organization that provides girls and youth of color in grades six to 12 with skill- based training in the technology sector.
Winnie talks about her experiences in founding Maydm as a young entrepreneur, the barriers and biases in place that have kept women and people of color out of the tech industry, and the tremendous opportunities for innovation available if we can enable all kids to work to their full potential. She talks about the importance of partnering with other people and organizations to bring about greater social and racial justice.
