Dr. Ishtar Govia is a Jamaica registered-clinical psychologist, public health scientist, and social
entrepreneur working at the intersection of ageing, equity, and systems innovation. She is the Founder & CEO of Amagi Health Ltd, a UK-registered social venture advancing tech-enabled, culturally grounded brain health solutions in the Caribbean and Global Majority. A nominated member of the World Dementia Council, advisor to the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative, and former Senior Consultant with the WHO’s Brain Health Unit, Dr. Govia leads pioneering efforts in dementia risk reduction, including Amagi’s Brain Health Navigator Certification Programme and Cognitive Compass platform. Her work bridges health, policy, and care delivery through regionally driven pilots and global partnerships. She serves on the Board of the Caribbean Policy Research Institute, the Clinical Management Committee of Jamaica’s Bellevue Hospital, and is a widely respected speaker and systems thinker. Dr. Govia holds degrees from the University of Michigan, City College of New York, Harvard Divinity School, and St. Thomas University.
