There is an old saying. “Those Who Do Not Learn History Are Doomed To Repeat It.” This saying can be found to be very true. The United States of America can learn a great lesson from this statement. No, I do not want to carry you down a comparison of the United States and Rome. Although that could possibly be done. I want to share with you my thoughts on how the Democrat Socialists are using tactics like those in the French Revolution. The similarities of Democrat Socialists and the French Revolution are obvious.
The Beginning of the Revolution
Like any country in despair, economics played a part at the beginning of this story. Around Paris, the capital city, the elites of the society were partying hard and living a lavish lifestyle. The “peasants” were working like crazy to pay taxes to maintain this lifestyle. All the while those ruling France was getting the country in a financial mess.
Taxes were then raised constantly on the lower-class citizens while those in the upper-classes paid very little to none, and kept on living it up. France was a very different country then. They had a King and Nobel class that ruled. This included aristocracy and the clergy. All of which paid little to no taxes. The workers who were paying the taxes were getting angry.
Comparison to Socialist Democrats
To draw a comparison to the French Revolution would be easy here. What does Democrat Socialist constantly tell us? The rich do not pay their fair share. People like AOC and Bernie Sanders make it sound like those at the “top” of our economy pay nothing while we slave to pay it all. Quite the contrary. The more money you make in America, the more you pay in taxes.
As a matter of fact, the top 1 percent accounted for about 37.3 percent of all income taxes paid. This is vastly different from the French government. However, you and I are constantly told by Democrat Socialist they are not paying any taxes. it is to build hatred and rage towards those who are successful. Lies are used to supporting Democrat Socialist claims.
Democrat Socialist and Maximilien Robespierre
Maximilien Robespierre, remember this name, started to formulate a rebellion to remove the king. His political party the “Jacobins” used fear as a tactic. This fear led to anger in the French general population. The Anger then led to violence. This all came to a head when the Jacobins started calling for a revolution. The National Guard finally took hold of the revolution idea on July 14, 1789.
Here is where I would like to insert a few names. Let’s say, Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or Ilhan Omar. Any of the three will do.
