I have long believed - and have long said - that it is not what is being said (or done), it is WHO is saying it (or doing it) that matters. In the world of double standards, you don't have to look far to find people who are just fine and dandy with a certain policy or action which they vehemently oppose when 'the other guy" is doing or saying exactly the same thing. Whether it's republicans voting for tax increases or liberals calling for war, the two-faced behavior is both self-serving and as predictable as a sunrise.
In recent days, we have seen this play out once again, as the President announced that he was withdrawing US Troops from Syria. It is one of the most out of the ordinary things we've seen in this never ending "War on Terror," as what it says isn't what it actually means. I mean, that's normal, but the reactions to it have run the gamut of outright disdain from people who not that long ago were calling for exactly that, to the War Hawks basically yawning about it.
