Wicked is a inherently political show - as was the original Wizard of Oz, which was a political and economic allegory. Its messages about poplism, free speech, discrimination, and bigotry are important, but what's even more pressing is what the show has to say about human nature and the motivations that drive us to excuse these evils. But this message seems to be going directly over the heads of leftists in the audience in a hilariously hypocritical way.
