Is the net closing around Donald Trump? Certainly the pressure has intensified in recent weeks. With the publication of the Mueller report just around the corner, chairman of the House of Representatives judiciary committee Jerrold Nadler added further fuel to the fire on Monday when he said that it was "very clear" the president has obstructed justice. The committee investigating President Trump’s financial and other affairs has sent dozens of letters to government agencies and individuals demanding documents and information. Later: French President Emmanuel Macron has called on Europeans to mobilise “for the values of progress” and warned against the trap of “national entrenchment” in a letter published in newspapers across Europe, including the Irish Times.
