This message explored our need to shift from independence to dependence on the Holy Spirit in our Christian journey. Too often, we receive salvation as a free gift but then attempt to live the Christian life through our own effort and strength. God never intended for us to simply admire Jesus from a distance or to mature to the point of spiritual independence. Rather, He sent the Holy Spirit as our Helper—our Advocate, Counselor, Comforter, and Defender—to walk with us through every moment of every day. The Holy Spirit doesn't replace Jesus; He represents Jesus and continues His ministry in and through us.
