DEPENDING ON GOD

Monday 24th October 2022

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

It takes the Holy Spirit to walk a journey of a surrendered life, that is a life that acknowledges that God and Him alone can help us.

So we must never come to a place where we think it is us. We must always come to a place where we lose confidence in ourselves and come to a place of total dependency, leaning and trusting the Master 24/7.

John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.

Jesus, who walked one hundred percent in alignment with the will of the Father could of Himself do nothing. How much more of us?

We need Him more, not only the mere 'saying' but the reality of experience where we sorely depend and trust in Him to help us, even with things we consider the least.

Exodus 33:15 Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.

Read Exodus 2:11-25

Moses with all his natural advantages and the call of God upon his life presumed God would use his natural advantages to take on the Egyptians. His natural advantage failed him, became frustrated and fled to the wilderness.

Though the call of God was up on Moses, everything about him was Egyptian. Like many of us, though born-again, saved, and loving the Lord, there is too much ' Egyptian ' in everything we do; how we talk, handle issues, react, etc. Therefore God can't effectively use us because we will attribute whatever we achieve to the 'Egyptian' advantages.

It was not until Moses had an encounter with God that this became the turning point in his life. (Exodus 3:2-3)

Exodus 4:10 Then Moses said to the Lord, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant, but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Moses who was mighty in speech now says his not eloquent because he was stripped from everything of 'Egyptian,' and God dressed him with His strength.

He was able to walk back to the place of his defeat and failure, fully dependent on God, telling Pharaoh: "Let my people go." ( Exodus 5:1 ).

Psalm 127:1Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

You may be talented, gifted, or have all the things of this world working and going for you: accreditations, credentials, experiences, titles behind your name, etc., but in this Kingdom, these don't work. It is the Holy Spirit and the hand of God upon your life that makes a difference.

That is why we seek and cry out to God because as good as these things are, life is more spiritual than we think.

I pray that your heart will yield to this truth and cry to the Lord for help.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED. WE LOVE YOU. PASTOR BEN OCHOLA.
