Deprescribing #33 Jay Couey, Germs & Viruses Don't Cause Diseases. Then What Does?
Jonathan Couey is a former academic neurobiologist whose last faculty appointment was a research assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and his nearly 20 year career (that included publications in Science, NatureNeuro, and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences). His contract was abruptly ended when he spoke up about the possibility of a lab leak in 2020.
After more than a year of shaking a can on the internet while teaching pandemic biology online, Jay was hired as an expert consultant for Robert F Kennedy Jr during the writing of the Wuhan Cover Up. Afterwards he served as staff scientist at the non-profit Children’s Health Defense. Jay was fired from his position at CHD on Jan 4th 2024 and has since been working to shed light on what he has come to understand as an elaborate multinational security operation to misconstrue an expected rise
