The recent spate of pastors and Christian leaders being derailed by sexual sin, suicide, abuses of power, financial mismanagement, and a litany of other issues that diminish their influence and ultimately derail their calling and purpose, has inspired me to go on an extensive and prayerful quest for answers. The diametrically opposed responses of David the Shepherd and David the King to the weight of responsibility placed on his shoulders hold the key to how we can avoid derailing.
