What remains when everything you've built suddenly falls apart?
Welcome to Remind Me of Myself, a special series on Derive Insights where we uncover the defining moments, lessons, and experiences that remind us of who we truly are beneath the noise, setbacks, and expectations of life.
In this episode, I sit down with Polis Xinaris, an entrepreneur, social media marketing expert, certified mental disruptor, Master Reiki practitioner, and performance coach.
Polis's journey is one of resilience, reinvention, courage, and personal responsibility. After his family's global business collapsed during an economic crisis, he found himself facing debt, financial uncertainty, and very little control over what happened next.
But instead of surrendering to his circumstances, Polis made a difficult decision: to stop waiting for other people to decide the direction of his life and start taking responsibility for his own future.
A major turning point came in 2018 when he invested in attending a Tony Robbins event despite his difficult financial circumstances. What he brought back wasn't simply motivation, it was a new perspective on personal responsibility, decision-making, and the courage to rebuild.
In this conversation, we explore what happens when everything falls apart, how to rebuild when you have very little, why waiting for circumstances to change can keep us stuck, and what it means to take ownership of the decisions that shape our lives.
At its heart, this conversation is a reminder that your circumstances may change your direction, but they don't have to determine your destination.
