A fascinating talk with the provocative Derrick Jensen, a philosopher and activist and the author of a new book, The Myth of Human Supremacy, about whether people are superior to other life forms. Matt pushes Derrick to explain his attitude that the sustainability movement is inherently and deeply flawed (well articulated in his “Open Letter to Reclaim Environmentalism.”) They also talk about the empathy humans have for each other, whether Jensen is hopeful about the future, and what he appreciates about modernity.
