To close out hour one of this edition of Ready or Mott, Thomas talks all things Atlanta Hawks with basketball insider and expert DeShaun Tate. Thomas starts things off by asking DeShaun if he still feels good about this series for the Atlanta Hawks. DeShaun responds by saying “this is a series I still feel good about if i’m the Atlanta Hawks, but obviously I don’t feel as good” Deshaun finishes his thought by saying “I’m still waiting for the guy who can wake up out the bed and give you twenty that is Lou Will, nobody is talking about him, and I really think he will step up in game four.” Next, Thomas asks Tate just how big of an impact the De’Andre Hunter injury is making on the Hawks. Tate responds by saying “De’Andre Hunter isn’t just a guy who helps you on defense he helps you on offense too, and I think this is a guy they are really missing because this team does look different with him on the floor.” Next, Thomas continues the interview by asking DeShaun how he would grade Clint Capela’s defense on Joel Embiid. DeShaun answers by saying “When it comes to a letter grade I would give him a B because like you said Joel Embiid is going to get his.” Next, Thomas asks Tate where he’s at with John Collins in this series. Tate responds by saying “I’m okay with where John is, he just has to give us everything he’s got night in and night out and I don’t think we have gotten that consistently. Thomas wraps up the Hawks talk with DeShaun by asking him if he thinks game four will be close on Monday. DeShaun responds by saying “I think this game will be close, and no matter if they win or lose on Monday they just need to go back to Philadelphia with some sort of confidence.” Lastly, Thomas wraps up his interview with DeShaun by switching over to the other NBA Playoffs’ series asking Tate if there is any way that these teams down right now can come back and win the series. DeShaun responds by saying “To come back and win the series I don’t think so, but I do think Milwaukee has the best chance to tie the series.”
