I teach a web design course a local college to a primarily visual design, print-centric body of students. I've made some observations at my own college and across Central Pennsylvania and beyond about design education in a traditional college-based program. Does design education need to change? Is on the colleges to change with the times or on the student to find direction and take it themselves? I'm not sure. I share my own college experience and share experiences, observations, trends, and thoughts about the supposed differences of design, print vs. digital, and the attitudes I've experienced in this realm.
