In this week’s message from our By Design series, we continued our journey through Genesis chapter 2, uncovering the intentional design behind God's creation of humanity. Through this passage, we explored four foundational truths about why God created us and what we were ultimately designed for.
Designed for a Relationship with God – We see from the beginning that humanity was made to walk with God, to know Him personally, and to live in His presence. Our deepest purpose is rooted in a relationship with our Creator.
Designed for Relationship with Creation – God placed Adam in the garden not just to enjoy it, but to work it and care for it. We are entrusted as stewards of the earth, reflecting God's character through how we interact with His creation.
Designed for Relationship with Each Other – “It is not good for man to be alone.” From this truth, we recognize God’s design for community, friendship, and human connection. We are made to live life together.
Designed for Relational Intimacy and Harmony – The union between Adam and Eve shows us God's intent for intimate, harmonious relationships—not just in marriage, but in how we relate to one another with honesty, vulnerability, and unity.
This sermon invites us to reflect on how we are living out these relational designs today—and how God calls us back to His original intention for connection, purpose, and love.
