Episode 6 of Australian Stories of Healing Pain introduces Desiree Taylor. Desiree is a mother of one, residing in Sydney. She is a Holistic Health and Wellness Coach.
Desiree was 26 years old when she was bedridden for 8 months and received the devastating diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. She was a busy woman playing hockey for the NSW women's team, a manager for a global recruitment firm, she loved wining and dining and living a burn and churn lifestyle. She didn't have time for Chronic Fatigue.
It took Desiree 4 years of research and experimenting along with the help of a few health professionals to turn her life around. She was able to return her body to a state of health where she no longer experiences the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Not without setbacks... Desiree caught a common cold that caused her to be blind in both eyes. Optic Neuromyelitis. Another learning curve where Desiree looked into her diet, stripped back foods and reduced the inflammation in her body. She was able to regain her sight without taking the recommended prescribed lifelong medication.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome does not have a cure and researchers are still working hard to understand why it occurs, however, Desiree was able to rid her body of any symptoms providing she continues to life a healthy and balanced life.
