I found myself on a random Monday morning in January of 2014, as a young husband and father of 4 small children, in that position no one wants to be in – being told they have cancer. After enduring 217 days of chemo and radiation and all the other things that cancer put me through, not only physically but more meaningful emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually I walked away with a different perspective. I have a very different perspective on what I can and can’t do. What is possible and what is impossible. I have what I call “My 3:59’s”. Overcoming. Enduring. Achieving. Doing the impossible. And in doing so coming to the understanding that most barriers in life are self-imposed and the insight that the real achievements in life are not reaching our own My3:59’s but inspiring and helping others to achieve their My 3:59’s.
