When she was in high school, Dr. Mercedes Cook thought that she would be doing pre-med and going straight to medical school. How she ended up in upper cervical chiropractic is a story that would make you want to believe in destiny – or, more tangibly, purpose. As a cheerleader and dancer in high school, Dr. Mercedes used to have a couple of pain issues, including a really bad case of hip pain. When the traditional medical route didn’t give her any relief, her parents finally took her to see a chiropractor. Her first experience of chiropractic care turned out to be upper cervical – and the healing she got from it would change the trajectory of her life and career forever.
