Scripture describes God's glory as both brighter than the sun and terrifying for humans to behold. How can we dwell in God's presence? How can we possibly draw near to him? In our final epiphany moment, God explains that he hides his glory to reveal himself. The heart of the gospel is not in the revealed glory of the transfiguration, but in Jesus' willingness to veil that glory. Jesus hid his glory and went to the cross to carry our his good and glorious work of salvation.
