There’s a lot of talk about “light” around the holidays—the candles of menorahs, lights in Christmas trees, people warming by a fireplace. But for all the light adorning our world right now, we must remember that, for many of us, there’s dread and pain and grief and…darkness. One of the people who knew Jesus best actually said his “life brought light to everyone”. If we revisit the birth of this life this Christmas, maybe there’s a little light leftover for all of us.
