* God commanded 10% (tithe) of crops or animals to go to the Lord at a certain place.
* They would bring the tithe to Jerusalem (or wherever the tabernacle was) and eat of it there as a feast to the Lord.
* The leftovers would go to the Levites, who would then tithe to the priests.
* But if they lived too far to haul that much produce they could sell it and bring the money, buying themselves a meal and then giving the rest of the money to the Levites.
* Here’s the cool part - going to “town” and having a meal was normal.
* What made this meal special was their mindset in why they were doing it.
* This meal was “for the Lord.”
* Think about ministry - What makes a minister is where he’s placed or how he’s paid. It’s about his mindset as he has in the thing he does.
* A man in a boardroom with a knack for making a deal who’s out to make money is a businessman.
* A man in a boardroom with a knack for making a deal who’s out to bring God glory is a minister.
* It’s all about the mindset.
