Deuteronomy 28

Listen Later

In Deuteronomy 28, the blessings are given. If the Israelites choose to follow God, His blessings will be poured out on their lives. The chapter very quickly turns back to the curses they will endure if they do not choose God. Moses is doing all he can to warn them of what disobedience and rejecting God will bring in their lives. He knows these people quite well and knows they need all the warnings. Jesus took sin and defeated death on the cross so we don't have to live in these curses. If we choose Christ as our Lord and Savior, we get to receive and live in all the blessings of God. He freed us from any and all of the curses that sins bring and gave us freedom, righteousness, and blessings in exchange. It doesn't mean life will always be easy or that we won't make mistakes, it just means that God is going to be with us every moment. This is a very broken, sinful world, and life may get hard at times. If we choose to accept Jesus as our Savior, we will have God and the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to give us all the strength, peace, rest, and anything else we may need at different moments in life to endure through it all.
