Steve Webb 0:03It's the Lifespring! One Year Bible coming to you from, well, sorta kinda from Riverside, California. I'm on vacation. So I'm not here. This is pre recorded podcasting since 2004. I'm your OG Godcaster. Steve Webb. It's the law Monday and Our reading today will be Deuteronomy seven through nine. The website is Lifespringmedia.com. and I'll have contact information at the end of the show. Before we read, let's pray. Our Heavenly Father, we love you and we thank you for this time together around your word. We pray that You would bless this time. In Jesus name, Amen. All right, are you ready? Let's begin.
Steve Webb 0:41Deuteronomy chapter seven. When the Lord your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Gurkha Shi'ites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the parasites in the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you. and when the Lord your God delivers them before you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. Furthermore, you shall not intermarry with them. You shall not give your daughters to their sons, nor shall you take their daughters for your sons, for they will turn your sons away from following me to serve other gods, then the anger of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will quickly destroy you. But thus you shall do to them, You shall tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars, and hue down their ashram, and burn their graven images with fire. For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. The Lord did not set his love on you or choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which he swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of slavery from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
