Torah Portion "דברים/Devarim" which means "Words," delivered on July 17, 2021.This week's portion covers Deuteronomy/Devarim 1:1-3:22, and begins, "These are the words which Mosheh spoke to all Yisra’ĕl beyond the Yardĕn in the wilderness, in the desert plain opposite Suph, between Paran and Tophel, and Laḇan, and Ḥatsĕroth, and Di Zahaḇ," Deuteronomy is often called the book of repetition but it's also known as Moshe's last will and testament. The teaching today addresses the second generation of Israelites and Moshe warns of potential sin. He tells them to rise to their calling.Pastor Richard explains that before they cross over the Jordan to enter the promised land, they are to cast away the sins from this side of the Jordan. They do this through Torah teaching. They are not to act conceited, they are to lower themselves in order to lower their pride. He also shows that passing over and going into the promised land is not an end to their exile. The crossing over is temporary. Pastor Richard gives an important message about understanding the promise given to Abraham and how this Torah portion explains about the stars and the numerous numbers. Great study, shalom! This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Ro'ah Alpha from Isaiah 1:1-27, and the New Covenant teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from John 15:1-11.We hope and pray that you find blessing in our teachings. We ask that you please join us each week as we dig deep into scripture to learn more about our God, the God of Israel, and reveal the Messiah throughout the Old Testament.
