In this episode, Amber interviews Scott L. Montgomery, who is an author, geoscientist, and affiliate faculty member in University of Washington. The interview starts with Pr.Montgomery’s experience and interests in the Arctic, then the exploration of resource history and the oil and gas industries in the United States and across the arctic countries. They furthermore dive into the discussion on Arctic regulation policies, the Arctic Council, the concept of sustainable energy, and the ideal sustainability in the Arctic. Finally, they point out the question of weighing the pros and the cons of industrial development and achieving SDGs.
