DEVOTIONAL: Called to be Active, Not Passive, Investors with Mike Hatch

Listen Later

Nowadays you might hear a lot about passive income or passive investments that promise streams of effortless income. However, as Christians, there is no such thing as passive investing.

Instead, we are called by God to be actively involved in our investments and business ventures as people who will be held accountable to how we manage His resources.

We look at Jesus' parable of the rich fool and apply this teaching to our own investment plans. Young and old alike, we should be taking an active role in our investments.

GOD'S DOMINION & OUR STEWARDSHIP

  1. Principle #1 - We acknowledge God’s dominion over all resources, and the
authority of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Our role, through “secondary sovereignty,” granted to us by God, is to steward His resources.
  2. Principle #2 - We trust in God’s goodness, living with an abundance
mentality and enthusiasm to be “fruitful and multiply.”
  3. Principle #3 - As stewards of God’s resources we invest in what we know
and understand, and what allows us to leverage our wealth of knowledge
    and unique, God-given gifts.
  4. Principle #4 - We are active, not passive, investors of God's resources as stewards who will be held accountable.
