In Hour One (8-9 PM), Christopher Di Cesare (The Ghost Boy of Geneseo) and his Wingman Phillip Casey welcome world-renowned actor, author, model and performer Diane Franklin! Diane Franklin is known as the teen-actress who brought charm, grace, dialects and dark, curly hair to 80s cinema. Starting her acting career at the age of ten, Diane began with modeling, theater, commercials, voice-over and soap opera work. She then won the lead role of the dream girl, Karen, in cult classic THE LAST AMERICAN VIRGIN (1982) and soon after played the daughter, Patricia Montelli in AMITYVILLE II: THE POSSESSION. Her break-out film role was the unconventional, and spirited French-exchange student, Monique Junot, from the comedy BETTER OFF DEAD. And her most notable commercial success was playing the medieval Princess-babe, Joanna, from 1980s iconic comedy, BILL & TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. She sang the NATIONAL ANTHEM at Dodger Stadium in 2004 and wrote an autobiography about her caree as an actress in 2012, titled, Diane Franklin: The Excellent Adventures of the Last American, French Exchange Babe of the 80s (Amazon/Kindle). This year, she is out with another book which talks about the beauty of curly hair, and how she inadvertently kick-started the curly hair trend of the 80’s! Prior to his accident, Bay spent 25 years working hard for two family-owned businesses in Pine Plains, New York – a popular landscaping company and Two Bay’s Service Station. The night of November 15, 2009 is one that Jim “Bubba” Bay will never forget. Walking on a dark road in Pine Plains, New York, he stepped backward out of the path of an oncoming truck – and plummeted 14 feet down a rocky gully, breaking 23 bones in his body, including 11 ribs, 10 vertebrae, his skull and his left scapula. For Bay, this turned out to be a life-changing religious experience – one that touched him on a deep, spiritual level. Out of the total darkness, Jim Bay saw the “white light” often mentioned by those who have narrowly escaped death. Bay was told that it was “not yet his time,” and he somehow summoned the strength to climb up the steep ravine and stagger to the doorstep of a neighbor who called an ambulance. The accident on Hammertown Road was not his first brush with tragedy. Years earlier, Jim Bay suffered the painful loss of two of his five children. Although few people have experienced events like these, Bay continues, “a lot of people can relate to having great tragedy in their lives.” He says that his experience can serve as a metaphor for what many people are going through in their own lives. “Many people feel like they have ‘fallen off the road,’” he says, and this metaphor is echoed in the cover image of his book 'Miracle on Hammertown Road', which was awarded first prize (in the Spiritual category) of the 2017 Hollywood Book Festival.
