Septi Panca Sakti wohnt seit 2007 in Deutschland. Sie hat in #Aalen und #Fulda studiert. Zurzeit arbeitet Septi als Projektmitarbeiterin im Bereich Selbsthilfe und Zuwanderung beim Paritätische Projekte gGmbH, Selbsthilfebüro Osthessen. Damit aber nicht genug, sie arbeitet zusätzlich als Lehrbeauftragte an der Hochschule Fulda und ist in indonesischen Vereinen aktiv. Heute sprechen wir konkret über ihre Arbeit in “Muhammadiyah Deutschland e.V”; dort übernimmt sie die Koordination im Bereich Gesundheit und das Projektmanagement in einem von der GIZ gefördertes Projekt.
Diyah Nahdiyati, ist auch 2007 nach Deutschland gekommen. Sie arbeitet als Kinderärztin in Bad Kreuznach und in Frankfurt. Sie ist die zweite Vorsitzende des Muhammadiyah Deutschland e.V.
Der Verein Muhammadiyah Deutschland e.V. ist ein internationaler Zweig der Muhammadiyah-Organisation in Indonesien. Muhammadiyah ist die größte muslimische modernistische Bewegung in Indonesien. Sie wurde 1912 von Ahmad Dahlan in Yogyakarta gegründet und hat, Stand 2017, mehr als zwanzig Millionen Mitglieder und Sympathisanten. Der modernistische Charakter der Muhammadiyah spiegelt sich in ihren Bildungs- und Gesundheitssystemen sowie in ihrem Organisations- und Führungssystem wider. Die Muhammadiyah legt großen Wert auf Gleichberechtigung und bietet allen ihren Mitgliedern unabhängig von ihrer ethnischen Zugehörigkeit und ihrer Abstammung die gleichen Chancen.
Tete Loeper ist in Ruanda geboren und überlebte 1994 den Völkermord an den Tutsi im Flüchtlingsläger im Kongo und Burundi. Seit 2016 lebt sie in Deutschland.
Sie ist Schriftstellerin, Theaterregisseurin und Kreativ Bildungsreferentin mit einem Bachelor of Arts in Journalismus und Kommunikation.
In ihrer Arbeit beschäftigt sie sich mit den Themen wie Migration, interkulturelles Lernen, Dekolonisierung und die globale Nord-Süd-Partnerschaft.
Kassem ist in Zakho/Irak geboren und in Plauen im Vogtland aufgewachsen. Dort waren seine Leidenschaft für den Fussball und sein Heranwachsen und Jugend besonders prägend für ihn.
Nach dem Abschluss des Bauingenieurs-Studiums an der TU Dresden arbeitete er als Bauleiter. Parallel dazu hat er sich in diversen Ehrenämter engagiert, er ist Mitbegründer der Initiative “Die Anderen”, hat sich bei „DresdenPostkolonial“ engagiert und arbeitete ehrenamtlich beim Sächsischen Flüchtlingsrat e.V. als Dolmetscher.
Seit September 2021 ist er Mitglied des Bundestags für die Fraktion Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. Während seiner Bundestagskandidatur und auch darüber hinaus in seinem Abgeordneten-Dasein war und wird er von “Brand New Bundestag” unterstützt, einer zivilgesellschaftlichen Graswurzelorganisation, die progressive Kandidat*innen unterstützt.
Im Bundestag ist er Obmann im Ausschuss für Wohnen, Stadtentwicklung, Bauwesen und Kommunen sowie stellvertretendes Mitglied im Ausschuss für Klimaschutz und Energie und im Ausschuss für Menschenrechte und Humanitäre Hilfe.
Philipp Ziser ist in Karlsruhe geboren und hat dort studiert und gearbeitet, bevor er 2006 nach Burundi ging, um dort zu arbeiten. Geplant war zuerst ein Jahr, letztendlich wurden es neun. Seine Aufgabe dort war, die Öffentlichkeitsarbeit mit aufzubauen und bei der Projektarbeit mitzuhelfen. Seit 2015 ist er zurück in Deutschland und arbeitet seitdem als einziger Hauptamtlicher in dem Verein.
Der Verein Burundikids e.V. ist ein gemeinnütziger, konfessionell und politisch unabhängiger Verein mit Sitz in Bonn, der im Jahr 2003 von der Architektin Martina Wziontek gegründet wurde.
Irene Appiah wurde in Hamburg als Tochter ghanaischer Eltern geboren. In Hamburg_Billstedt aufgewachsen, konnte sie bei den letzten Bezirkswahlen mit der höchsten Zahl an Personenstimmen überzeugen. Sie ist Juristin und seit 10 Jahren für die Behörde für Schule und Berufsbildung tätig, wo sie u.a. interkulturelle Maßnahmen für Schulen entwickelte, und das pädagogische Personal fortbildet und berät. Für ihre ehrenamtliche, community-basierte Netzwerkarbeit erhielt sie bereits 2009 eine Auszeichnung für besonderes, soziales Engagement vom Ex-Bundespräsidenten Horst Köhler. Außerdem ist sie Initiatorin des Arbeitskreises Afrodeutsche Sozis der SPD, die überbezirklich verschiedene Interessen der BIPOCs politisch organisiert und anstrebt, diese auf die Agenda der Partei zusetzen. Irene ist außerdem Mutter und hatte sich am Muttertag Zeit für uns genommen.
Contimi Kenfack Mouafo ist in #Kamerun geboren und aufgewachsen, und mit 19 Jahren nach Deutschland fürs Studium gekommen. Aktuell ist er Student der Elektrotechnik an der “RWTH Aachen” und arbeitet seit ca. 8 Monaten, neben dem Studium, bei Africa Greentec. Er hat 4 Jahre lang als Projektleiter bei “Ingenieure Ohne Grenzen e.V.” für Projekte in Kamerun gearbeitet und 2020 den Verein “3 E's 4 Africa e.V.” gegründet.
Der Verein steht für #Education, #Empowerment und #Ecofriendliness. Aus dem Grund fördern und begleiten der Verein nachhaltige Forschungsprojekte die von den Studierenden in Afrika selbst vorgeschlagen und durchgeführt werden. Sie haben aktuell Projekte in Kamerun, Namibia und Ghana. Wie genau sie das schaffen, erfahren wir heute.
Somit wollen sie die Afrikanischen Changemaker empowern, so dass sie nicht nur selbst den Wandel auf ihrem Kontinent hervorbringen sondern auch einen globalen Impakt mit lokalen Handlungen im Rahmen der Klimakrise verursachen.
Deborah Düring ist ein “Dorfkind”, das in die große weite Welt gezogen ist und nun in Frankfurt lebt und ist seit 2021 Mitglied des Deutschen Bundestages für Bündnis 90/Die Grünen.
Sie verbrachte nach ihrem Abitur ein Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr in der Indigenen Gemeinschaft der Teriben in Costa Rica.
Nach einigen Jahren des Studiums der Sozialwissenschaften in Augsburg, studentischen Hilfskraft Jobs an der Uni und Kellnern in einer Kneipe ging es für ein Auslandssemester nach Lima, Peru.
Sie war Sprecherin der Grünen Jugend in Augsburg.
In ihrem Studium beschäftigte sie sich mit feministischer Sicherheits- und Außenpolitik, mit Umweltkonflikten insbesondere um die Ressource Wasser und indigenen Gemeinschaften. Ihre Masterarbeit befasst sich mit Naturschutz und Menschenrechten in der deutschen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit.
Sie schreibt selbst über sich, dass die vielen jungen Menschen, die einen radikalen Politikwechsel fordern, sie antreiben. Ich zitiere “Es ist an der Zeit, dass wir unsere Zukunft selbst gestalten und unsere Visionen von der Straße in die Parlamente tragen. Wir brauchen endlich eine politische Veränderung!”
Jasmin Valcarcel war Teil der Crew im Rahmen des diesjährigen “Diaspora Summit”. Sie hat dabei mit ihrem Fotoapparat die Veranstaltung humorvoll und professionell begleitet. Als die Veranstaltung zu Ende war, hatte Rafael die Chance mit ihr ein kurzes Gespräch zu führen. Dabei erzählte Sie, im perfekten Deutsch, dass sie in Südafrika geboren wurde, deutsche und sierra leonische Wurzeln hat, in Kapstadt aufwuchs und erst seit wenigen Tage in Deutschland lebte. Da wussten wir sofort, dass wir sie als unsere Gästin im Podcast haben sollten, denn von solchen Geschichten können wir in der Diaspora Community auch viel lernen.
Lina Fustok kommt aus dem Rheinland und ist die Tochter einer Russlanddeutschen und eines Syrers. Sie hat Soziologie, Politik, Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaften studiert, ist verheiratet mit einem Syrer und haben gemeinsam einer Tochter.
Dadurch hat sich in den letzten zweieinhalb Jahren bei Ihr einiges geändert und ist seit September 2021 die Geschäftsführerin beim „Verband Deutsch-Syrischer Hilfsvereine“. Davor hat sie fast acht Jahre im Deutschen Bundestag gearbeitet.
Lina ist seit ihrer Schulzeit engagiert, seit sie 13 ist, ist sie Mitglied bei Amnesty International und seit 2010 ist sie Mitglieder der SPD.
Seit 2014 ist sie auch in der Syrienhilfe aktiv, sie hat unter anderem eine Ostern Reise in den Libanon organisiert und eine Initiative für ein Hostel in Berlin gegründet, wo viele Geflüchtete untergekommen sind.
Die Liste ihres ehrenamtlichen Engagement ist viel länger, genauso stark ist ihrer Forderung nach einer Quote für Migranten auf Bundesebene.
Susan Bergner ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Doktorandin an der Freien Universität in Berlin und forscht zum Thema ‚Afrikanische Diasporas in den internationalen Beziehungen‘. Sie wurde in Berlin geboren und ist in Kreuzberg als Kind eines sierra-leonischen Vaters und einer deutschen Mutter aufgewachsen.
In ihrem Studium zu Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaften als auch Politikwissenschaften hat sie sich vor allem mit post-kolonialen und feministischen Theorien und Ansätzen beschäftigt, die auch heute noch ihre Arbeit prägen. Nachdem sie in einem deutschen Think Tank zur internationalen Politik tätig war, arbeitet sie nun an ihrer Dissertation zu afrikanischen Diaspora Organisationen und ihrem transnationalen Engagement.
Sie ist privat bei dem jungen sierra-leonischen Netzwerk „SL-Connect“ engagiert.
Außerdem ist sie in einem Think Tank Lab Netzwerk für Diversität mitgewirkt, damit mehr inklusive Einstellungsprozesse bei Think Tanks entstehen.
