December 22: My home is God's inheritance.

Psalms 125:1-3:
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity.

Psalms 126:3-6:
The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad. Bring back our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Psalms 127:1-5:
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep. Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
they shall not be ashamed, but shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Psalms 128:1-6:
Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the very heart of your house, your children like olive plants all around your table. Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord. The Lord bless you out of Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life. Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!

Psalms 129:5-8:
Let all those who hate Zion be put to shame and turned back. Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up, with which the reaper does not fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his arms. Neither let those who pass by them say, “The blessing of the Lord be upon you; we bless you in the name of the Lord!”

Let us continue to study the special chapters of those who were heading to Jerusalem. Remember that many were in carriages, others were on horses or mules, and others were walking. I have read a portion of each, so don't forget to read them completely.

Psalm 125 describes the geographical position of Jerusalem, which was in a mountainous area. This gave them an advantage in times of war. While the enemies were climbing, they attacked downward, and it was impossible for the chariots to go up to the capital of Israel. So is the one who is with God, protected by the Almighty.

Psalm 126 is very moving because it is usually dedicated to couples or families going on missions, or pastors starting out in ministry. The preacher is the one who bears the seed of the Gospel, and is aware that he will go through arduous and difficult times that will make him suffer and cry, but he continues his mission because he knows that the reward of seeing souls transformed by the Word is greater than the suffering. We preachers are willing to go through that process. Therefore, value your pastor.

Psalms 127 and 128 are similar in their theme: the importance of the family. To have blessed homes, we must make decisions based on God's will and He will bless the work of our hands and the plans we have. In addition, it teaches us that children are God's blessing and inheritance, and that a family that trusts in the Lord will be a prosperous home. Like any inheritance that is valuable, take care of the one that God has entrusted to you.

Psalm 129 is a warning not to fall into actions or customs of evildoers. They will be forgotten, their lives will not make any positive impact on...
