Did you know air is a mixture of 21% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, and approx. 1% other trace gases?

"The acronym NITROX means any combination of oxygen and nitrogen. The first breath you took when you came into this world was a nitrox mix – 21 oxygen." One aspect of diving that involves O2 is the introduction of nitrox – utilizing higher percentages of O2 in a typical mix. Tune in as Richard "Dick" Rutkowski (NAUI #4005), with Hyperbarics International in Key Largo, Florida, discusses nitrogen! Dick is a pioneer in the fields of hyperbaric medicine, diving medicine and diver training, especially in the use of breathing gases. He founded the International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD) and the American Nitrox Divers International (ANDI).
